Huddersfield Town vs Sheffield United
Huddersfield Town story posted by Sean Makin on 25/05/2012
Huddersfield Town and Sheffield United fight it out tomorrow at Wembley Stadium for a place in the Championship (3pm kick-off).
There can only be one winner and many past and present Town players and managers have given their comments about who they think will win.
It should be an intriguing match for any neutral and after last year's disappointing 3-0 defeat to Peterborough United The Terriers will be raring to go and lay the ghost of the nightmare at Old Trafford to rest.
Sheffield United don't have a great record in the play-off finals losing three times and one of two clubs that have lost at the old Wembley, Millennium Stadium and the new Wembley.
The Blades booked their place in the final after beating Stevenage 1-0 in the 2nd leg after the first leg finished 0-0.
Since striker Ched Evans was jailed for rape last month United have struggled for goals. James Beattie is suspended for tomorrow's match and fellow striker Richard Cresswell is 50-50 with an eye infection leaving a one-time Town target Chris Porter as the only fully available striker. Porter signed on a free after leaving Derby County in the summer of 2011 but has only scored one goal in 17 games. Midfielder Kevin McDonald is doubtful with a hamstring injury.
Huddersfield Town had to see off MK Dons over two-legs to reach the final. In the first leg Town produced an impressive display to beat MK Dons 2-0 at the stadium: mk but the Dons produced a fight back in the second leg to win 2-1 but The Terriers went through 3-2 on aggregate.
The only injury worry for Town is the hand injury to goalkeeper Ian Bennett. The veteran goalkeeper was forced off in the second leg of the play-off semi-final and looks 50-50 to start against Sheffield United. Scott Arfield is back from an ankle injury.
