Hammill joins Town on loan

Huddersfield Town confirmed last night the signing of Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Adam Hammill on loan until January 2013.Hammill joins Town on loan

The 24-year old winger is eligible to play in today's match away at Ipswich Town.

Hammill is a product of Liverpool's youth system but never played a first team game for the Reds his first taste of first team football was with Scottish side Dunfermline Athletic in 2007.

A season-long loan with Southampton in the 2007/08 season followed making 28 appearances in the process before signing a 5-year contract with Liverpool in the summer of 2008.

The Liverpudlian had two loan spells during the 2008/09 season with Blackpool and Barnsley and eventually made the move to Barnsley permanently in the summer of 2009.

A good start to the 2010/11 season scoring 8 goals in the first half of the season saw Wolves make a move for winger in the January 2011 triggering a £500,000 release clause in his contract.

Hammill has found appearances at Wolves limited making 23 appearances before being loaned out to Middlesbrough in March this year for the rest of the 2011/12 season.

Hammill has made 7 appearances for England U19s and one appearance for the England U21s but he is eligible to play for the Republic of Ireland.
