Town Could Miss Out On Coventry Striker
Huddersfield Town story posted by Sean Makin on 17/06/2009
Huddersfield Town have reportedly tabled a bid for Coventry City striker Robbie Simpson, but the Terriers could miss out as the Sky Blues are using the striker in a part-exchange deal for Norwich City's Sammy Clingan.
Town too have been linked with the Norwich midfielder but a number of Championship clubs are after the Northern Ireland international who wants stay in the Championship.
Boss Lee Clark has admitted his interest in the 24-year old Robbie Simpson but Coventry are looking to use Simpson as bait to sign Norwich's Clingan.
Town have drawn Stockport County in the Carling Cup first round at the Galpharm Stadium. The date for the match has been set for Tuesday 11th August (7.45pm kick-off)
