Town's chances of gaining a play-off place were boosted tonight after a well deserved 2-1 victory against in-form Carlisle United. Lee Novak and Jordan Rhodes were both on the scoresheet for the Terriers to extend Town's unbeaten run to eight games.
Town took control of the game early on causing the Carlisle defence problems down the flanks. This continued when Rhodes nearly scored when his header flew just past the post from a Pilkington corner. The early pressure finally paid off when Novak took on Peltier's long ball and rounded keeper Collins to make it one nil.
The Terriers added a second goal in the 56th minute when Rhodes shot in at the near post to head home a right-wing corner by Roberts.
Carlisle added a consolation goal three minutes in to the five minutes of extra time when substitute Anyinsah pounced to hit the ball past Smithies on the volley.
